Love this bio! Cracked me up : – )
Love to make you smile Sylver, especially after reading your great post about smiling 🙂
Lisa, I love your blog…..so proud that the little girl I once knew is now shedding some the values of past generations and becoming fully her own person!
So glad this blog came today….I debated as to wearing lipstick to Yom Kippur Services. I gave in‼️ You can imagine my embarrassment when I looked around and I was the ONLY one with lipstick. So, in letting go of my sins for this year, I vowed never again will I wear lipstick to YK! Now I have to work on the eye makeup….maybe that’s next years vow⁉️
Please let me know when you are in LA on your book tour.
My love,
Shayna, the artist formerly known as Jeanie.
Shayna, your words are so thoughtful and insightful and they truly warm my heart. I’m so glad you found my essay inspiring. Thank you for sharing your experience. Who knew wearing lipstick could be so complicated? I think following YK rules is a very individual decision, but I hope your Yom Kippur was a meaningful one regardless of how much makeup you did or didn’t wear. I also want to say that staying connected to you has been special to me, not only because you are special, but also because it helps keep my past memories of our family friendship alive and makes me feel closer in spirit to my mom. I will be posting my LA book tour in the coming months and hope I will have the chance to see you this winter or spring.
With love,
Lisa
Congrats on being Fresh Pressed. Well deserved. Write on.
Thanks for taking the time to offer congratulations, much appreciated.
Hey Lisa, thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog and subscribe. I look forward to seeing your comments, which I’m sure, at least part of the time, will be witty, based on what I’ve seen of your blog so far.

Hi Lisa
Thank you for visiting my baby blog. I cried when we left NJ. Loved it. Lived in Collingswood. Sigh.
Hi Tina. I cried when we moved to NJ. 🙂 But now I’ve learned to appreciate the change of seasons (and tolerate the long winters). Hope you’re happy where you’ve landed!
Hi Lisa, thank you for stopping by and liking my blog! I love what I’ve read so far of your writings (the bikini piece was brilliant) and look forward to seeing more!
All the best, Liz
My pleasure, Liz!
From an old Bronx Guy to a Jersey Girl: glad you liked my post, Lisa. You’re welcome back to “Swords, Specters, & Stuff” anytime.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and liking a post! I will explore yours!
Lisa,
There’s a humorous side to a suburban life?
Le Clown
Bring it on, Clown. I’ll see your clown nose and raise you a gift card to Applebee’s.
Lisa,
Applebee’s? Who’s that, the mayor of Suburbialand?
Le Clown
I am the mayor of Suburbialand and I just increased my clown tariff, so pony up, Le Clown.
Lisa,
You speak American… Could you please speak Metric to this Canadian man?
Le Clown
Rock band, or measurement?
Lisa,
Ok, you win. Any threat which involves Nickelback is enough to make Le Clown back away. Speaking of great Canadians, what’s up with Roller Giraffe? I say we petition to get her back on the blogosphere…
Le Clown
Really? I’ve only ever won in tennis. I enjoyed the banter. We’ll have to do it again sometime. Didn’t know about Roller Giraffe. I’ll see what I can do. I am mayor, after all . . .
Lisa,
I agree. Now I will unlock my 2 1/2 yr old daughter from the wardrobe, change her bowl of water, and pretend I’m her father for fifteen minutes, while we watch TV. Perhaps Pulp Fiction.
Le Clown
Dark, Le Clown. Very dark.
Loved reading through your work. I started in on the Pizza delivery reminiscing about my own past friday nights with Dominos and a VHS. I was really on memory lane with Fantasy island – I’m an all-around fan of Montalban… Then I suddenly realized that I had stumbled into the wrong fantasy (was that ever a problem on the island? I can’t remember). Good work, but it was distracting hearing some other guy’s name. I just couldn’t get into it.
I look forward to reading more. Best – Jack
Thanks! Glad you’re enjoying my blog. Sorry about the distraction. Next time I’ll write it Madlibs style so you can insert your own name. 😉
Just awesome being here. Regards.
Dilip

Hi Lisa. I see you are going to be fun. Do you mind if I have a look around. 😀 Ralph x
Take a look anywhere you’d like! (except under the hood). 😉
Why not under the hood?? What’s there?? What secrets are you hiding from me?? This could be a start of rumours, gossip, even a conspiracy theory escalating into UFOs, political intrigue or sex scandals 😉 Ralph x
I live in a small town. I go to great lengths to try and avoid scandal!
Say no more 😉
Funny, creative stuff. I enjoyed it. My first time here. I’ll be back.
Thanks, Stephanie! The door is always open. 🙂
A star for you, Lisa…!

Hi, there. Thanks for stopping by and taking time to like my post. I appreciate it.
Thanks a lot for the visit and like.
Thanks for dropping by on my blog and liking the post “The Door of history”. Really appreciated as the blog is only just starting.
Thanks for stopping by and clicking on the Like button for ” Slow Me Down Lord”. I’ve just found your Main Street Musings collections and see that we have a writing icon in common, Erma Bombeck. I’m looking forward to reading your posts and please feel free to browse through the rest of mine. My blog isn’t really a blog, more like a holding cell for vagrant vignettes.
My pleasure! I love your blog description, and your alliteration. 🙂
Erma Bombeck. Gee this is a name I have not heard in like forever! My mother would religiously read her column and I remember when she was featured on TV – Good Morning America, I think. She was wonderful.
Your neck if the woods looks like an interesting hangout, so if you would not mind, I thinks I am staying for a while!
She was a legend, indeed. I attend the Erma Bombeck Writer’s Workshop in Ohio every two years and I love it. Welcome to my neck of the woods, I hope you do stay awhile!
I’m from the sticks, now regrettably living in a city. Funny stuff happens everywhere.
Love this line: Think Erma Bombeck meets the ladies of Wisteria Lane.
Thanks!
Thanks for stopping by and liking my blog. Looking forward to visiting often and reading your posts.
The pleasure is mine!
Thanks for popping into my life (blog). Enjoying reading your blog. I hope to write about more upbeat topics soon. Recovery from torn tendon, broken foot surgery has been more challenging than I ever expected. But things are healing well enough that I’m off to physical therapy this week! So psyched! I see your daughter goes to Syracuse. Both my brother went there back in the 80’s. Cheers!
All the healing I’ve done at PT has made a believer out of me.
Go Cuse!
thanks for reading and i really look forward to reading yours, your blog looks great! beth
Likewise!
Thank you for the Like. You have a lovely place here. 🙂
Why thank you!

The pleasure is mine!
Thank you for your good thoughts and shares on Thanksgivukkah.
My pleasure, Steve.
I have been reading out some of your articles and i must say pretty nice stuff.
I will definitely bookmark your website.
Howdy this is kind of of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML.
I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding skills so I wanted to get guidance from someone with
experience. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I enjoy what уߋu guys are uƿ too. This sort of clever worқ and coverage!
Κeep up the excellent worƙs guys I’ve added yߋu guys to blogroll.
I do not even know how I ended up here, but I thought this post
was great. I don’t know who you are but certainly you’re going to a famous blogger if you are not already 😉
Cheers!
Thanks for your “Like” of my post called “Sky Shadow”. It was an interesting experience that still remains a mystery to me (and also to every meteorologist I’ve consulted). I’m glad you stopped by and just know that you are always welcome.
Thanks, I’ll be back!
Thanks for the like; I appreciate your stopping by and leaving feedback.
A Jersey girl! Me, too! Moved from there to FL years ago but once a Jersey girl, always a Jersey girl. Thanks for the like of ‘Happy Monday.’ Most appreciated.
Thanks for the visit.
Hi, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for liking my post, Dear Kitten. I’m a fan of the late Erma Bombeck. I’m curious to see how she blends with the Desperate Housewives.
My pleasure!
Many thanks for visiting my blog Lisa, I very much appreciate your time ☺ peace, love & light, jules
My pleasure, Jules!
